Meerkamer huis
Hamsters zijn van nature grondbewoners en gravers. Ze maken hele gangenstelsels met verschillende kamers die elk een eigen functie hebben. Zo hebben ze een slaapkamer, één of meerdere voedsel opslag kamers en een kamer om zijn behoeftes in te doen.
Eigenlijk zijn hamsters gewoon hele schonen diertjes, want ze houden graag hun eten slaapplek en toilet gescheiden.
Nu was dat bij Harry een ander verhaal. Hij deed het namelijk allemaal op èèn plek! In zijn huisje. Daar sliep hij in op zijn bedje van nest materiaal. Onder dat bedje lag zijn verzamelde eten, maar ook al zijn drollen en zijn plas. Niet zo fris, helemaal omdat het het houten IDA huisje was van Trixie. In dit huisje zit een dichten bodem en door het plas wat in het hout trok ging dit erg stinken. Nou ben ik helemaal weg van CSI urine Spray, deze spray produceert enzymen die actief werken op de urine. Hierdoor zal de geur van urine verdwijnen.
Echter bleef Harry maar plassen in zijn huisje. Ik vond het geen fris idee dat hij daar ook slaapt en zijn eten bewaard. Doordat het snel ging stinken moest het vaker schoongemaakt met het gevolg dat Harry zijn voorraad eten en zijn nest weer opnieuw moest maken.
Nou had ik al een tijdje het meerkamer huis op het oog. Dit is een huisje met vier kamers. Drie grote en een klein kamertje onder de trap. Twee van de vier kamers hebben geen bodem en twee hebben een houten bodem.
Het huis heeft ook twee in- / uitgangen. Het makkelijke van dit huis is dat je de deksel kan verwijderen om zo makkelijk het nest materiaal te verschonen en de troepjes op te ruimen.
Ik heb dit huisje gekocht en ga eens kijken of Harry zijn slaapplaats wel gaat scheiden van zijn toilet en voedselvoorraad als hij meerdere kamers tot zijn beschikking heeft.
Ik heb in kamer één en vier geen nest materiaal gegeven. In kamer twee heb ik toiletpapier gelegd en in kamer drie hemp. Nu maar eens kijken wat hij gaat doen.
Ik denk zelf dat hij met de hemp een nestje gaat bouwen, maar ben toch wel heel erg benieuwd wat hij er van gaat maken!
