Katten gras

Kattengras in je hamster verblijf. Ik vind het nu al leuk, maar hoe gaat het in zijn werk. Ik heb het katten gras thuis zelf gekweekt, maar je kan het ook kant en klaar kopen. De katten gras zaadjes heb ik in het tuincentrum gekocht. Deze zaadjes zitten al in een plastic bakje. Eigenlijk is het heel makkelijk. Je voegt eenmalig een halve liter water toe. Dit laat je een uur intrekken en vervolgens giet je het overtollige water af. Nu is het een kwestie van vochtig houden. Iedere dag spuit ik met een planten spuit de zaadjes vochtig. Na enkele dagen zie je de eerste gras sprietjes al opkomen. Let wel op dat je het gras niet in direct zonlicht zet of boven een verwarming.

Als het gras ongeveer 10 centimeter hoog is plaats ik het in het hamsterverblijf. Je hoeft het niet perse uit het bakje te halen. Ik doe dit wel Het voordeel hiervan is dat Je hamster niet aan het plastic bakje kan knagen en dat het er erg natuurlijk uit ziet. Het nadeel is dat je het gras niet makkelijk uit het verblijf kunt verwijderen om water te geven etc. Ik plant het gras in biologische humus. Dit staat niet alleen super leuk maar Harry vind het ook heerlijk om in te graven. Ik geef het gras af en toe een beetje water met een planten spuit, water geven met een gieter raad ik niet aan.

Nou ben ik helemaal happy met het eindresultaat, maar wat vind Harry? Harry kijkt er eerlijk gezegd niet zo naar om. Hij heeft meerdere zaadplantjes in zijn verblijf en hier gaat zijn voorkeur naar uit. Na 2 Weken begonnen de grassprieten er minder mooi uit te zien en werden ze zo hoog dat ik ze uit het verblijf heb gehaald.

Conclusie: Kattengras is makkelijk te kweken en staat erg leuk in een natuurlijk verblijf. Harry heeft er echter weinig interesse in.
